ARC Raiders Guide: U4N Tips for The Major's Footlocker

Starting The Major's Footlocker quest in ARC Raiders can look simple at first, but the real challenge is finding the correct building and getting the quest item safely back to Speranza. The mission, given by Tian Wen, asks you to recover Major Aiva's Mementos from the Dam Battlegrounds. Knowing where to look before deploying can save time and reduce the chance of getting caught in a dangerous area. If you are preparing your loadout, keeping your ARC Raiders Items organized can also make it easier to leave room for the quest objective.

Start at the Dam Battlegrounds
The first step is to deploy into the Dam Battlegrounds map. Once you land, your main goal is to reach Ruby Residence, a point of interest located in the northwestern part of the map. Ruby Residence is easy enough to recognize because the complex contains three red apartment buildings.

However, simply reaching the complex is not enough. You need to enter the correct building, so rushing inside without checking your surroundings can waste valuable time. Other players may also be moving through the area, which makes awareness important from the moment you arrive.

Choose the Western Building
At Ruby Residence, focus on the westernmost apartment building, which is also the left-most building when viewing the complex from the relevant approach. This is the building that contains the footlocker connected to the quest.

After entering, make your way upward rather than spending too much time searching the lower floors. The target is on the third floor. Having a clear idea of the destination helps you move quickly, especially if you are concerned about other Raiders or ARC activity nearby.

Search the Third-Floor Bedroom
Once you reach the third floor, look for a back bedroom. Inside the room, pay attention to the desk positioned in front of a large square window. The window overlooks the southern side, and the small box sitting on the desk is the footlocker you need.

The container may not immediately look like an important quest objective, so it is worth checking the desk carefully. Approach the box and interact with it. You will receive the option to search for memorabilia.

Pick Up the Memento
Interacting with the footlocker begins an interaction sequence. You need to wait until the search bar finishes before the quest item appears. This is an important detail because completing the interaction does not mean the item has automatically been secured.

When Major Aiva's Memento drops from the footlocker, physically pick it up and make sure it enters your inventory. Forgetting this step can lead to an unnecessary return trip to Ruby Residence.

Plan Your Extraction
Getting the memento is only half the job. You also need to extract successfully and return to Speranza with the item. One useful option is to equip an augment that provides a Safe Pocket. Because the quest item is highly contested, placing the memento inside a Safe Pocket can protect your progress if you die before extraction.

If you do not have a Safe Pocket, consider bringing a Raider's Hatch Key. The Raider's Hatch located directly below the apartments provides a fast extraction option. This can be especially useful when you want to minimize the distance you need to travel after collecting the memento.

Complete the Quest at Speranza
Players without a Raider's Hatch Key will need another plan. The free extraction point at the power generation complex is the alternative mentioned in the quest guidance. The longer route means you should be more careful after collecting the memento, since every extra movement creates another opportunity to encounter danger.

Once you successfully extract with Major Aiva's Memento in your inventory or protected inside a Safe Pocket, return to Speranza. The final step is to turn the item in to Tian Wen. Completing the hand-in unlocks the Hullcracker blueprint, giving you a useful reward for successfully finishing the quest.
