Cheap transaction fees for moving ETH to Polygon: is it reliable

Post by Lamar »

Every time I look into moving ETH over to Polygon the fees seem almost too low to trust. Spent about 15 minutes yesterday trying to figure out if cheap cross-chain transfers actually settle properly or if there is some catch buried in the process. Anyone done this regularly and found it solid?

Last month, I transferred a small amount, and the transfer went through in less than ten minutes, without any problems. The fee was maybe a dollar or two at most. I think the low fee is just a quirk of the network, not a warning sign.

Over the past two weeks, three separate transfers have been completed, none of which took longer than eight minutes. The Polygon network handles high transaction volumes well, so fees remain low even under moderate congestion. For a simple ETH transfer between Base and Polygon, I recommend using the bridge https://defiway.com/bridges/bridge-eth-base-polygon Just make sure the receiving side has sufficient liquidity for your amount before making the transfer.
