One of the coolest sights in Forza Horizon 6 is seeing Chaser Zero glowing under the night sky. During the daytime, the giant mech already looks impressive beside the Horizon Festival, but at night the lighting, reflections, and atmosphere make the whole area feel completely different. If you want better screenshots, a more cinematic drive, or just want to cruise around the mech without distractions, there are a few reliable ways to do it.

The main thing to understand is that Forza Horizon 6 uses a rolling day and night cycle. That means nighttime does not happen on command in normal free roam, so if you simply wait for the clock to change naturally, it can take a long time. Fortunately, there are faster methods.

Finding Chaser Zero in Free Roam

Before you can explore the area at night, you first need to locate the mech itself. Chaser Zero appears as a giant static model near the Horizon Festival hub in the Ohtani Region on the Japan map.

Once you arrive at the festival grounds, the mech is hard to miss. It towers over the surrounding buildings and acts almost like a landmark for the entire area.

If you only want to walk around it, drive nearby, or take photos, free roam is the easiest option.

Ways to Reach Nighttime Faster

There are two common tricks players use:

Wait through the normal day/night cycle while parked nearby
Fast travel repeatedly between distant player houses or festival locations to push the in-game clock forward faster

The second method is usually much quicker. After a few fast travels, the lighting often shifts into evening or full nighttime conditions.

At night, the reflections from wet roads and neon festival lights make the Ohtani Region look especially good. This is also one of the best times to use Photo Mode because the mech lighting becomes much more dramatic.

Using Blueprints to Force Permanent Night

If you do not want to rely on the natural time cycle, the Blueprint system is by far the best solution.

This method lets you create a controlled nighttime environment directly beside Chaser Zero.

Step-by-Step Setup

First, drive to any race event located close to the Ohtani Horizon Festival area. Street races and road races nearby work best.

Open the event setup menu and enter the Blueprint or Race Customizer section. From there, you can manually change environmental settings.

The important settings are:

Change Time Progression to Fixed
Turn Max Number of Drivatars Off

Locking the time progression is the key part. Without it, sunrise eventually starts creeping in while you are still exploring.

Disabling Drivatars also makes a huge difference. With AI traffic removed, the roads around Chaser Zero become quiet and empty, which is perfect for screenshots or relaxed cruising sessions.

Once the blueprint launches, you essentially get a private nighttime version of the festival area.

This is probably the best overall method for players who want to spend time exploring without interruptions.

Replaying the Chaser Zero Boss Race at Night

The most cinematic option is replaying the actual Chaser Zero Showcase event after unlocking it in the campaign.

Unlike the stationary festival version, this event features the active mech during the boss race itself, making the scale feel much more intense.

Unlocking the Event

To access the official Chaser Zero Boss Race, you need to progress through the main campaign and increase your Green Wristband level until the Showcase unlocks.

After completing the event once, replay customization options become available.

When replaying the race:

Open the custom setup menu
Set the time of day to Night
Keep the environment locked before starting

This creates a much more dramatic version of the battle. The glowing mech effects, city lights, and darker sky make the whole Showcase feel closer to a sci-fi movie than a standard Horizon race.

Best Time for Photos

Nighttime is easily the best moment for photography around Chaser Zero.

A few things help improve screenshots:
