Sonata battery died in the middle of the road - need a mobile service ASAP

Post by simondavenport »

Okay so this was genuinely terrifying. I was driving home from work yesterday evening, stopped at a traffic signal near the Dubai-Sharjah border, and when the light turned green I pressed the accelerator and nothing happened. The engine just shut off completely, all the dashboard lights flickered and went dead, and I was stuck there in the middle of the lane with cars honking behind me. I had to put my hazard lights on and push the car to the side of the road, which was absolutely not fun in the heat. A kind passerby helped me jump start it and I managed to get home, but I'm now terrified to drive it anywhere. The battery is the original one from 2019 so I know it's overdue for replacement, but I honestly didn't expect it to just die while driving. I called a few places and most of them said I need to bring the car to them, but I really don't want to risk driving it again and getting stuck somewhere worse. I live in Muhaisnah and I've seen a few mobile mechanics advertised online but I'm always skeptical about letting strangers work on my car, especially since the Sonata has that smart alternator system that needs proper resetting. I was hoping to find a Hyundai battery change for drivers in Muhaisnah 4, Trusted and quick because I need someone who can come to my building parking lot and get this sorted without me having to tow the car anywhere. Has anyone used a mobile service around here that actually knows what they're doing with Korean cars? I really don't want to end up with electrical issues just because I went with the cheapest option.
